Got some time tonight to work on Biggles.
Started with a mix of Jaune Brilliant and Burnt Sienna to get a medium brown. Added Titanium White to get a pale Northern European tone and painted for average. While still wet, shadows were added with straight Burnt Sienna and highlights added with Titanium White with a hint of Jaune Brilliant. Burnt Sienna and the slightest bit of Cadmium Red was added to the lower lip.
Once it has dried a bit, I may go back and deepen some shadows and brighten the highlights.
He does look a bit washed out in the picture.
Cheers,
Rich
