Meng Jeep with blackdog SAS set

Had a nice little session today. I was plumb tuckered out yesterday, did a He Man's job on the yards killin' stuff and trying to get other stuff grow.

Back on my Armor Jeep I took a ding from a judge about a wheel being off square to the axle so I made an attempt to get these right.

Once I got the tie rods back in place didn't look that bad out of alignment.

One tie rod kept jumping around so I glued them in place. Fun while it lasted.

Dry fit of the body on chassis.

Can someone ID this part on the resin tree?

I'm pretty sure the one on the right is oil fill spout. Any idea what the one on the left is?

And what about this radio?

Is that something that could be packed up in the jeep? Correct era?

The Jeepster is coming along nicely. I believe that radio is Korea/Nam era so for WWII not so much...but you might be able to make it look the part....SCR-300(?)

Very cool so far. Too bad the tie rod experiment didnt work but the wheels are turned so still a win.

Thanks James, I was just trying to get the wheels posed, I could have used some scale hardware to secure the rods to make them totally workable. Speaking of that, I need to stock up on that stuff.

Well we took a little break for Hilton Head this week, just now got some time to get back on the bench.
Thought y'all would like this.

No food porn and this place was so so. Little to fancy for the looks of it. Very cool truck though!

I took the resin gun mount off the center of the junk pile because it looked weird, will replace it with brass rod that's straight.

The Jeepster is coming along great. Hope it's proving to be a nice easy build after the Eindecker
The oyster truck in kool too!

Trying to figure out what they did with the headlights, were the covered over? I see several phtos where the reflectors were removed. That's easy enough.

The crumbling bumper. Try taking a wee bit of gauze & spiking it I white glue. As an experiment, try wrapping it around some thick spruce. Should work though

as to the headlamps, covering them over IRL would mean they were available for later use. Otherwise I would think that outright removing them/leaving them out would work... but could make you “penlight vulnerable “
