M*A*S*H Chopper

Hi Guys,

I've just joined up here and look forward to checking out everyones work!! Please allow me to share some of my work with you all. Here is a link to a pseudo build log of the MRC/Academy Mash chopper I recently finished. Of special note: On page 1 are some incredible pictures taken by Moon Puppys Dad of the real article in 1952 Korea! All comments and suggestions welcomed! http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/forum/index.php/topic,3537.0.html

If you don't mind Jeff, I'll post the last post I made at SMA

Hi Guys,

Here's the next to last report on the Mash chopper. She is all done except for a sealer shot of dullcoat and a generous application of L.Z. dust. Although the kit supplied plenty of roundel decals, it neglected to supply a plastic base for the one on the tailboom. I ended up applying two decals to some sheet and then cutting and sanding the plastic to close in on the shape needed. Turned out OK. I've done some more chipping and detail painting. In honour of Moon Puppys dad and his amazing photos, I tried my best to replicate the marking on the boom tailvane. It's a bit wonky (freehanded it), but these pictures were so inspiring to me, I thought I'd giver a go.

I'm really humbled....

Outstanding finish, can't wait to see it dusted up some. I think you nailed the unit insignia!

I'm printing this out and sending it to Mom, she'll get a kick out of this. ;)

Again, really nice tribute, Dad would have been proud to see his picture come to life like that. Thanks!

Beautiful job! I also want to build one of these in 1/72 scale so it will fit on my M*A*S*H diorama. Now I got something to help me do better. Thanks!

So whats next?

Well, syill working on the Mash dio, I've been modelling like crazy in 1/35!! I've recently finished this

After that it'll be on to a WC54 ambulance by Italeri. Once that is finished I will start on the actual dio base! Thanks for the kind comments Guys...Much appreciated!

Thanks Guys. It is made with two layers of tissue paper. Several washes and drybrushings and a healthy dose of patience. The frame for it was made with copper wire. Glad you like it fellas!
