Let's call this a tale of I can't do anything easy.
Started many moons ago, 1980 to be exact.
I made a list of all the aircraft used in Vietnam, known to me at that time.
The top two items on the list were:
C-141, C-140 both aircraft built by Lockheed.
I found the Nova C-141 in a advertisement in the magazine Scale Modeler, remember that one?

So I send my money to Discount Hobbies, I think it was in New York. I also picked up the Nova KC-135.
Then came the finding of the Airmodel C-140A. Two of them for $10.00.
Then 25 years later came the Anigrand C-140A. Still had not built either of the kits.
Now the fun begins.
A well know company brings out an injected molded kit.
Sooooooo, I say I am going to build this here and now.

The company, drum roll please, Mach 2.

Wow Frank! Having done a few Mach 2 kits, I can feel your pain. Still this isn't half as bad as the ones I've done. I would attempt this kit if I ever found one. Looking forward to seeing more of this madness....

Just a bit of Air Force trivia about the VC 140's

Somewhere around 1978 , the fleet of Jet star arrived at Ramstein AB. all pretty in their blue and whit livery . Straight from the Presidential .

The maintenance folks were told they were all TDY. The 90 days turned into two years and as the troops became more and more dismayed , they were told that they were not going back home.

At that time , they started painting them in the lizard scheme .

Great information Christian,
As seen in the last picture, all the primer had been sand off.
I had never seen primer with orange peel.
Well, it was not the primers fault, the plastic had that bad of a complexion.

I have finished sanding and polishing.
Glued horizontals on, everything else is stuck in place.
