The replacement canopy for my Typhoon arrived from Airfix today. The canopy on the right is the original from the kit, in the red circle is the small crack. On the left is the new canopy.
From what I've read, the cracks started to appear when they went to the full production rate and sprues spent less time cooling in the moulds than they did during the early runs that were sent out for test builds. Hence, it was not identified as a problem at that time. They have since slowed the runs down and the crack has disappeared. The second batch of kits will have the new run of canopy sprues.

My XB-70 Valkyrie kit from AMT had a bad canopy. I phoned and asked for another canopy. They sent me another entire XB-70 Valkyrie kit.

Well, received another replacement canopy from Airfix today. :hmmm
Maybe they'll send a Typhoon to go with it next.

Well in light od the issues I face with the Nachtjager there is some light at the end of the tunnel. My daughter brought this to me this afternoon.
and a neighbor brought this to me also. NIB
