I dug this out of a box in storage, I can't remember when I got it, but it is pretty cool

Now THAT is a rare and awesome kit! I would love to have that, but finding one will be pretty impossible right now. Way to go!

James, nice scores. I built one of those Fennecks in 1/72 scale. It is a cool looking vehicle!

Ha!Got the same Tamiya masking sticker sheet today. The Fennek is still not available at my local hobby shop, but it will be soon, the shop owner said.
And I got my self an Ultraschallreinigungsgerät from the cheapo supermarket in Germany (that would be an ultrasonic cleaner) ...handy for cleaning some airbrush parts.

I took my son to Lowe's Home Improvement Center for a kid's build event and went shopping afterwards. I found this new tape when looking for Shurtape Gold 60 (the Tamiya equivalent). This one also seems to be the same tape and it was $10USD.

This came off eBay. I paid for it blindly without realizing the price was in Euros, not US Dollars so I paid more than I thought:

This purchase will make me post some items to sell off later today in my 'Garage Sale.'

My latest was bought today- a new set of ink carts for my printer. Not really model related but at 58 bucks it's worth mentioning!

I did add 5 kits and some AM stuff to the stash though. When the Shilka parts come in I'll post it all. Happy Sunday,

I found that same Tape last year Saul while trying to replace the Shurtape I'd run out of. Only after buying it b/c I couldnt find anything else, did I realize that its apparently exactly the same as the Shurtape.

Let me know how that tape works out. The Green Frog Tape sucks.

Meanwhile, at Hobby Day on Saturday, my friend Jay came up from San Diego and wanted to visit a local Hobby Shop. We went to Military Hobbies just down the road where I picked up some paints, paint brushes and these kits:

I plan on making one Russian, the other Indian. I've even started one of them; you can see it in the Maddog Manufacturing thread.

When I got back to Hobby Day, another friend had arrived and gave me this as a present:

Oh, and just before I got back to Hobby Day, Jay and I stopped at Coast Airbrush where I picked up these two hoses and a splitter valve:

Now I'll be able to set up both my medium-tipped airbrush and my fine-tipped airbrush together so I don't have to keep switching out the hose. I can't wait to set it up and get it going!

Good to know about the Frogtape...Sherwinn Williams seems to be the only place to find the Shurtape around here...

Latest Acquisitions

Frogtape really only works as advertised with water based paints, I still trust my fine lines to Tamiya.

I'm with you Mike but the special Shuretape Saúl mentioned was the real deal. Some modeler a while back did a comparison a few years back between it and Tamiya and found them to be equal. The guy at Sherwinn Williams thought I was nuts to spend $12 on a roll of tape...but when I showed him the $6 roll of Tamiya I had I think he understood ;). That was 3 or 4 years ago and I still have a third of a roll left.

Greetings,Ron.

Sorry Ron, missed this. The ultra sonic cleaner is a great buy. I swear by mine. Hope you get the Fennick soon. I think you will really enjoy it. Did you see the Abrams Club article? It is well done.

From an Ebay seller. This will be used on an M24 I stripped the paint off.

From our very own Ryan. :ro:

The JP will have markings from Black Forest Peak from Girls und Panzer. Not sure what I will do with the KV yet. Maybe a 105 howitzer?

From a private sale on ML. $45 for them both. :geek The Firefly, most likely with markings from Argentina. The 2.5 T.? For the soft skin build. Maybe add a Le Roi compressor on the back.

Exactly right. However, my local Sherwin-Williams store never has it in stock.

Mike, this is the Shurtape to get:

Frogtape doesn't mention much about their product on their website. However, by looking at the limited specifications listed on Findtape.com, I see that there is a difference in thickness and perhaps the product from the Shurtape and Tamiya items. If so, not a real problem as I own a home and there will always be a painting project.
