I think this looks better. No brass paint so I replaced whatever that is on the left with brass rod.

Wow the flat coat has given that a 10000% improvement and knowing how macro pictures can show up faults that often aren't even there...i would say you nailed this. I would be overjoyed with that in 1/24 let alone 1/32.

I still have a spit to build for a guy that asked me and this could be the inspiration :)

This is a Mk IX and maybe a refurb, but it might give you an idea.

Thanks guys, I got to gloss up the dial faces and that little control quadrant to the left needs some attention.
Thanks James, I got AlcladII Duraluminum...I think.

Hot linking to the image, how's that color for you Paddy?

Here, happy? There's a lot of work that can be done in the cockpit. Including rigging! And you thought because you're in a more modern aircraft you don't have rigging?

BTW, anyone else notice that the rudder peddles are deflected? The way they are molded the rudder should be cocked over to the right.

The top "U" on the rudder PEDALS are the stirrups that held the pilots feet in place. They were made of heavy webbing and held in place by two screws on each side.

The one below was recovered from the crash site of Spitfire Ia R6753 in 1976. It was shot down in August 1940.

Thanks Rich, instructions do call this out. Will have it correct shortly. Everything is dry fitted just now. I want to get the seat and sidewalls painted and weathered up before I commit all the sub assemblies.

Paddy,,

It is a source of some pride that I got tossed for calling a guy a “ *ucktard” in a PM.

I seldom question people’s color choices. So many times it depends on the manufacturer. After all… what color is Panzer Gray?

Ha ha you are right Barney :) what color is Sky ?, its dark grey today, its was bright blue yesterday :0)
