Iron Fence Posts from Russian Cannons

Shalom.

Many years ago I bought four 1/35 (or is it 54mm ?) muzzle loading Russian cannons because I thought that the cannon barrels would make four fantastic decorative iron fence posts. These cannon kits were in the Blow-out bin and ere something like $0.99 Canadian each.

Here are the cannon kits, one that has been cut down to use as an iron fence post and another that has been cut down and the halves of each section cemented together.

I bought some fine link metal jewelry chains at a thrift store and will use one of these two chains to loop between the posts and attach them to the pommels. The muzzle ends of the cannons can be used for a different type of post or as the basis for a decorative iron water pump.

When finished I think the four posts with the pommels on them and with a link of chain between each pommel will look very good with the water fountain pump I'm working on in another thread.

As you can see in the images, there are eight great wheels and lots of other parts I can use for other projects.

Thanks for looking and cheers.

This images shows the four kits of the Russian Cannons. It shows two of the cannon barrels in their original condition and one of the cannon barrels cut in half plus one of the cannon barrels cut in half and each half section joined together. Note that the assembled upper cannon barrel half has had the gun carriage trunnions removed from it.

This image shows the resultant four quarters of the cannons glued together to make two halves. The four half cannons with the pommel are the ones I'll be using with the village fountain water pump from my other thread.
