Hi, folks...

My name is Sergio, from Brazil. I found about Tanks & Things through Facebook and I want to introduce myself...

I try hard to be a good modeler - kind of - and my main focus is WWII armor and aviation, but I don't refrain from building modern subjects that I like. I build also Sci-Fi, bikes and cars, I love those big gas-guzzling muscle cars from the '60s and '70s - I think those fit in the "things" part of the site's name. I'm married and I have a 17 year old son who was once interviewed on TV about modeling, showed his M4A3 and said that it was "a hobby for a lifetime" - he was 8 at the time. But then he discovered girls and forgot everything I taught him. Kids...

But I don't really blame him...

Brazil fought in WWII, with a good combat record and many people don't know that, needing any info or other help, just ask, I'll do my best...

Here I am, toying with a 50-cal on a brand-new MOWAG Piranha IIIC from the Brazilian Marines...

Later I'll post some pics of my works. You'll see my main problem is weathering, it kinda scares me...

Greetings Sergio! I'm with you on the Weathering thing, one build I recently did I thought I totally screwed it up with weathering but folks say it looked great, they may have been saying that because I got Admin rights, they may not, I don't know .

But it's a great place to learn new stuff cause we truly have some Masters of the craft here.

Hi Sergio,

Brazil's expeditionary force did the Allies proud. One of my favorite models is a captured German Schwimmwagen with Brazilian flags and markings. Another is my Senta a Pua P-47 Thunderbolt(but I like the Brazilian sharkmouth P-40 the most... guess why).

G'night, lads and lady!! Err... Well, at least here in Brazil it's night time... :huh:

I wish to thank everyone for the warm welcome... I'll try to drop by often and tomorrow I'll post pics of some of my works. Nothing really recent, I'm getting back to modeling, I think the last kit I finished was my E100, back in 2006 - honest!! It's an Ausf C with a scratchbuilt what-if turret, IR gear and ly-sergic cammo scheme... :laugh:

And I wasn't lying: when the time to weather the model comes, I end up shelving it. I hope I can get tips, as well as words of encouragement. Tomorrow morning I will buy my first armor kit in a long time, probably a Dragon Sd.Kfz 234/4. Let's see what I can do with it.

I'm sure we'll spend a good time together here!! As I said before, needing any info or help from Brazil, let me know. I just can't send the 50-cal, Jenny, we would probably have some explainin' to do at Customs...
