Stumbled across this little tidbit: Add a smidgen of Tamiya Flat Base to Vallejo acrylics for a dead flat finish!

I bought Tony's book. He has a way of explaining things even someone like I can understand.
 
Dude is a bit dry, but the technique works and is worthwhile, so...

The big take away I am getting here, and an important lesson is that he is using multiple shades in random areas. He is not working the whole surface, even for glazes (washes), they are random, not project-wide.
