I had wondered about that very thing! I think the Ratel vehicle is particularly neat, and had thought that as a model it would be commonely available!

Yes well SA was not a very popular country due to its politics at that time and very few people were even noticing the war much lech the vehicles used as it was really a far away low intensity war. The Ratel (Afrikaans meaning of the Honey Badger one of the toughest animals in Africa that will take on and beat animals more than twice it size) was one of the vehicles I always loved driving with its hidraulic gearbox. The 90mm turret ones took on Russian T54/55 tanks and took them out in the battle of Cuito Carnavale.

That is awesome but resin is not my cup of tea. I can barely afford some plastic kits so these are out of reach for me. I would love to see someone do some injection plastic kits of SADF vehicles; there are so many incredible ones out there.
 
It would depend on the timing and duration so I'm not going to commit at this point and if I understand correctly that WWII era is OK I have several that would fit from the very small like the Storch to large like a B-24 or something in between, I have another A-36 in the stash with appropriate decals that would work as well.
 
As far as I know (which ain't too far, really) theat would be good. When are we aiming to start this thang?

Really not trying to get it rolling, just trying to get it scheduled. I am currently sthinking (but don't your day by it, trust me) of either the Mig-23, Su-25, or maybe the Su-27, IOW, back to aircraft.
 
So would this also include WW2 era subjects, as long as they are in the scheme of, ro models specifically to use in Africa?
 
We have 40 something dozen different things to do for South East Asia over a 25 year span, let's play in that sand box for a bit ok? I'll have site migration done before the end of the summer and we'll open campaigns up again.

That's good to know about the tank from Hobby boss...I'll check it out. I was able to pick up the Takom Rhino after patiently waiting for the right sale and free shipping ;)
 
Israel and South Africa did a lot of mutual weapons development The Olifant and Shot Kael was in a lot of ways very similar because of that reason.
