Yes well SA was not a very popular country due to its politics at that time and very few people were even noticing the war much lech the vehicles used as it was really a far away low intensity war. The Ratel (Afrikaans meaning of the Honey Badger one of the toughest animals in Africa that will take on and beat animals more than twice it size) was one of the vehicles I always loved driving with its hidraulic gearbox. The 90mm turret ones took on Russian T54/55 tanks and took them out in the battle of Cuito Carnavale.Anyone interested in so SADF vehicles these guys make some great resin kits also an Rhodesian SAS guntruck.

I had wondered about that very thing! I think the Ratel vehicle is particularly neat, and had thought that as a model it would be commonely available!

I'll have site migration done before the end of the summer
Been thinking...the only person I know from the continent is SA Dave-- so it might be fun to build something with Dave in mind. I am wondering what might be the best way to convert a present kit into a SA Olifant...I see it seems to be based on the Centurion- but also that one person building one has based it on the AFV Club S'hot Kal kit...I need more info. And some possible schemes...hmmm....
Thanks in advance for any help
WW II subjects will be accetable?...
