Heller 1/72 Feiseler STORCH Fi156/MS500

Here is my entry for the MMM build. There were no instructions or decals. I found instructions on Scalemates. I had some very old decals that actually worked but are probably completely wrong. But, there they are. Since my wife and I are staying in the place where we are moving our store I only had a paint brush for the entire thing.
I hope this is the place to put this!

Will The Fartful Arm hobby shop have fewer stairs, then? No more barn?

If the address was GA SR-71 ,rather than GA SR 17, "Habu Hobbies" would be a natural.
Hobbyquest? A little like your tower neighbor?
Timber Ridge Hobby Shop?
Modelville?
Hobby Ridge?
Chuck's?

Interestingly enough, and I don't know what it means or says about me (a tiny look inside my warped brain here), but it felt weird putting WWII Germany decals and paint scheme on this. That is just me. It felt like...IDK,..evil. I couldn't bring myself to put the swastikas on it. I have a card full of different sizes, and I cut them out. Couldn't dip them in the water. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy all of the wonderfully done German tanks and planes you guys do; they are magnificent and I truly can appreciate the artisty. I just don't don't want to do one. There was a Brit version of the plane too, and I almost went that route, but got the feeling this was more of a Geman gig, so, I tried it. Probably won't do another, but there it is; an unexplainable look inside my head...

Hey I already see our lunch spot! The Hangry Cafe and Crossroads Cafe! I'd offer to help move but I'm scared you'd take me up on it.
Hangry's is fantastic for burgers. Crossroads is breakfast heaven. And I appreciate the offer and I would NOT take you up on it. We have a literal army of volunteers who have offered and have a list of numbers to call. Two have said they will be highly offended if I don't call when the time comes and will be pissed at me. They are on speed dial.

Sir

Sir, the decal markings on your Storch probably came out of a Tornado or Phantom II kit. The swastika has been banned in Germany since 1998.
Keine sorge, Mein Herr.

The 90+86 is for a Focke Wulf built Piaggio P.149D. The Luftwaffe and Marine Flieger used it as a training/utility aircraft. They carried the type code 90, 91 and 92.

There are many like 92+19 that are demobbed and privately owned.

It is amazing that you knew that! I had no idea where it came from, it was in a pile of decals someone gave me.

As much as I could say it is some magical ability, there are lots of sites on the web dedicated to plane spotting that collect data that can be searched for tail numbers, manufacturers, locations, etc. I found 90+86 on AIRPORT-DATA.

I get how you feel on modelling Axis subjects. When searching family history I found a link to relatives that lived in a village on the German side of the German-Soviet partition of Poland. They disappeared from public record when the village was taken over as a staging area in May 1941 during the build up for Operation Barbarossa. Since then, if I build an Axis subject it is portrayed as captured.

My Heritage is 3/4 German. Our family name is that of Rhein river sailors. In every tv show and movie Germans are the bad guys. This was quite a conundrum for a kid, finding his way in the Big Ol' World. I was conflicted as a much younger child about finding Germans I could admire.
Model making is all about historical fact (says the Guy that often fractures historical fact, just for the fun of it) Facts are not feelings.
If the facts don't appeal to you, make a different model. There are more than a few choices!

One of the guys in my modeling group is of German descent. His grandfather was a Nazi tank commander (who made it through the war) and his grandmother was full blond, blue eyed Nazi, who had never met before they were married. The officers were on one side of the cathedral and the blue eyed blond women were on the other side. The (whoever was in charge) said "Next" and the next man and woman walked to the podium and were married and told to go forth and multiply. He said his grandmother was the meanest, most hateful woman he has ever known in his life. He makes for some very interesting stories.
