Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109 G2

Since getting the jets finished and off the shelf I decided to get to work on a couple of more doomed builds. One was the Special Hobby 1/32 Tempest that I bought last year and started it around then also. opened the box and found out there were parts missing. I looked high and low, in and out and they are no where to be found. Well, they will turn up one of these days so I am keeping this kit on the shelf until I am sure they can't be found.

The second selection was the Trumpeter 1/32 Me 262. Started working on it and got to a good point in the build and decided to secure the center canopy section. Gone!!! It is probably where the Tempests parts are. Back on the shelf. Not to be deterred I found a 109 G2 that was mostly done. I checked thoroughly and yep, all the parts are still here along with parts for an F and the decals for the F. OK then, onward we go.

Since I started the tropical paint scheme last year I decided to get on with it and mask for the white nose and yellow "chin". Yay. it cooperated.

I have a bit of panel wash to do but all in all this is done. This sat in the box for about a year and I am glad I got to it before I lost something else. three more shelf queens to go.

One of the things that I forgot to do was a panel line was. To tell the truth I didn't wash anything. I used these Faber and Castell artist PITT pens. The gray comes in various shades from black to very light gray. I use the light gray ones because it doesn't appear heavy. Just trace the panel line with the tip of the pen and with your finger or a slightly damp Q-tip wipe the excess in the direction of air flow.

They seem to work the trick for me.

That did turn out quite well Paul! (y)

I also like the Faber Castell pen idea. I wish I could find someone that carries the Pelikan drawing inks as I like to use those for that purpose. After an initial coat of clear flat paint them on and with a Q-tip moistened with 409 wipe the excess off.
