Games of War

Okay it has been mentioned to us that something missing in a lot (all?) modeling forums is a place for gamers to talk about and post their builds. Some here play Flames of war and I have seen some other games mentioned also. I know Maus does some itsy bitsy insane scale models for his Games of War enjoyment. So we are rectifying that short coming with a new category. It will start small (pun intended) so we can gauge interest. You will find it here https://www.modelersalliance.com/forum/games-of-war
So if you are a gamer and make those insane scale models please show us your stuff.

Are these like those GHQ 1/285 metal pieces?

I have some of their FAMOs and Tiger Is and they are amazingly detailed for the size. Better than some 1/72 styrene kits I've seen.

Don't forget "DUST" figures!

Hi everyone

Thanks James and MP for getting this thread/ topic to where it is. :)

Ausf, you bet, I have a lot of GHQ myself and love to drive James nuts at the detail they have.

Saul cool I didn't know about Italeri's Alzo Zero models, I will have to check it out.

MR T, Beautiful work, I have seen Dust Up in the stores but this is the first time I have seen a model out side of the box.

James :)

Sweet. Years ago I did my take on a ship in a bottle with 3 FAMOs towing a Tiger I across the Tunisia sands in a whiskey pint.

Unfortunately my choice of sand was Durham Rock Hard Putty and there was no way for the moisture to get out (even left open) before mold took over. The 'sand' because 'oil sand' with black blotches after a month or so.

I can imagine the frustration, sounded like a very cool diorama. Years ago I entered a diorama of PZ I and II crossing a river in Greece based on a photo in a Model contest in Calgary. I even scratch built a bridge out of Plaster of Paris. My diorama was treated very poorly by the other contestants and by end of the day the bridge was destroyed. I have never entered a model contest in Calgary since then.

Cool idea. I picked up some WH40k figures a few years ago, along w/ a WH40K tank but havent ever really gotten beyond cutting the pieces of the sprues and start cleaning them. I'll have to remember this when I finally get around to working on them.
