I started this project on New Year's Day and completed it last night in time for my wife's birthday which was today. The figures are from Masterbox which for injection molded figures were pretty decent. I did not modify them in any way, which is rare for me, but I thought they told a good story. I kind of wish I had posed the little girl prior to me starting to paint the mother because I would have turned the little girl's head more to the left. The figures are painted in acrylics. The house facade is from a company I do not recall the name of and the roof is a cut section of a roof from a Verlinden gas station. The groundwork is Magic Sculpt textured with an old toothbrush. The grass tufts are from Vallejo and Army Painter. The other plants are preserved plants from Diorama Resepe.

Overall, I think the vignette turned out well considering it was a six day project, is colorful, and most importantly, my wife loves it.

She could be waiting on that no account husband to make it back from town with the supplies.

This vignette seems to be pretty popular at the various places I have posted it. One guy suggested something that I hadn't thought of, adding an arrow or tomahawk stuck in the wall to give a hint of the danger being faced. If I end up bringing this to a show, I just might have to add an arrow or two to the scene.
