"Easy Pickins"

I like the muted pastel colors of the color [ sunless ] pic.
The b/w is ok
The color pic doesn't [ to me ] mean there's no sunlight , there's no sunlight on thick pine forest floors anyway .
The real golden , lifetime achievement award would go to you capturing a ray of sunlight on the dio through the trees .
Lop off a tree branch and place it so it puts shadows on portions of the dio .

That would be an excellent set of pics, but making sure they would appear in scale might be a little difficult, great idea. Bro, it's been a pain just trying to get six pics. Either I take a chance and snap pics where the pups can hassle me, possibly altering their life-span, or deal with hauling this beast father than I care to in order to get decent pics.

Here's a possible snap window, but not exactly ideal. This is what I've got to deal with when planning these pics.

Easy Pickins, Normandy, France, July 1944, 200mm Diorama

Army Ranger Rick’s lunch has been interrupted by a few uninvited guests just outside of his hidey-hole in an abandoned winery maintenance shed. They appear to be lost and it sounds like they can’t agree on which way to go. But Rick will give em a hand in short order. This is what ya call, “Easy Pickins!”

Figures are, Warrior Models' 1/9th US Infantry BAR Gunner, US Ranger, Verlinden Productions #2427, German Panzergrenadier Machine Gunner, Super Scale 200mm, Verlinden Series Super Scale 200mm Panzergrenadier, ReeDees Miniatures RM201 1/9 Scale Heer bike Rider, ReeDees Miniatures RM202 1/9 Scale D.A.K. Bike Rider, modified. The bikes are the Italeri's 1/9th scale Harley, and the BMW R75 from Dragon W/Sidecar. The shed and everything on this base are scratch built, from the tree to the wine bottles, with the standard ground work applied. The base footprint is 29.5”x14.75”.

Steve, I am blown away. This is my favorite dio all time. Words fall short to tell how awestruck I am for the entire thing. Excellent. Professional. Work!

Thanks, Greg, very kind of you to say that, Brother!
WOW - just WOW
Thank you!
Rick better be quick, Klaus could spot him any second!

Absolutely love this Steve, you had the vision and stuck to it. Outstanding!
Thanks, MP. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to choreography for this entire scenario. It took some time to adjust and readjust how these figures were going to interact on the board, and Rick and Klaus were paramount to making this all work correctly. This is one of those split-second timing photos, just before the bullets fly, that had to be right at the edge of that major action. If I read you right, I just might have pulled it off, and that is worth all the troubles and hassles working this beast from the get-go.

Thank you again, Gents!

You read me right, that one photo from behind Rick looking at Klaus, it's clear Rick is just about to be seen because Klaus is pointing up the road where they missed the turn. Klaus is just before seeing a shadow move in front of the gate and wonder what it was. If he turns his head just a bit he's looking right at Rick and will be in disbelief. There's no way he can pull his MG34 into action. He's toast!

Rick is just about to get a Bronze Star at least.
