"Easy Pickins"

Calling it Done!

After 13 long years, off and on, this baby is finally finished. I’ve eliminated every item from the punch list and can’t see doing any more to it. No sense in beating a dead horse, right? I’ll be taking final photos within days and posting all the detailed shots when they’re cleaned up. My photo bench is being stretched for this base, it’s taxing my ingenuity to get decent shots without going out of bounds. Not only that, I’ve got 1/2” clearance to fit this beast into the curio cabinet when I’m done, it’s a very tight fit.

This has been a fun run, and sometimes a bit frustrating, but mostly a good time. I always said from the beginning that I don’t recall seeing any 200mm dios posted anywhere, so why not do one myself. I think that still holds true, but who knows. At any rate, I am happy to see this through to the end.

Thank you all for your continued support, encouragement, and suggestions along the way. Final photos coming soon.

Cheers, Ski.

Can't wait to see the finished photos! I could arrange to get some higher resolution images uploaded on our website if you like. Just got to figure out how to get them to me. Maybe dropbox or something.

Good to see it finished Steve! I am sure that you have quite a sense of accomplishment on this after all this time.
Thanks, Brother, and yes Sir, most definitely. I'm not going to fall into post model-dum depression over this pig. So, the next kit is on deck, Trumpeter's A-37B Dragonfly, 1/48 scale, then back to figures, American Indian sets with smaller, much smaller foot prints, HA!.

Thanks MP, and thanks for the offer. I'm thinking that 620-720- width would work ok, my max usually being 620. The trick is to get the lighting just right and having room for my camera to get in there to take the pics. My photo bench is being accosted by the size of this base, so that will take some planning as well. I recon nothing new, because I usually take quite a few pics just to get a few decent ones anyway. I can zap you a few pics PM and see if you think they will be ok.

Thanks, Gents! Cheers, Ski.
