Desert War Series - the 25 pounder

Hi friends :)

Next years (yes !) I will be busy making a diorama series all situated in North Africa 1940-1943, the Desert War.
My favorite when it comes to modelling.
German, Italian, British and US kits will be used.

So far I gathered about 30 vehicles and some 100 figures.
Some are brand new, some are very old and will be rebuilt/repainted.

I will show individual vehicles here and any progress in scenery in "The Real Thing"

First to show is the Italeri Opel Blitz, a real classic.
Todoos: wheels(tyres), dust filters, stowage, large tarp, figures.

Im open for any improving suggestions !

Re: Desert War Series

Tarp you say?

I did one on the German halftrack with tissue paper and white glue.

Check it out, turned out pretty nice if I say so myself..

Re: Desert War Series - update Valentine tank

Hi all,

Next vehicle dio-ready.
Its a OOTB British VM Valentine IV MK III (VM was an obscure company inbetween from Alan to Miniart)
Nicely detailed, but not easy to build.
The barrel was so terrific I had to replace it with an alu one.

Re: Desert War Series - update Valentine tank

@All: Thank you for the kind words :cheer:

@Ron: yes hundreds of individual plastic tracklinks :pp

@Arturius: these were old Tamiya decals, left over from a Matilda :hmmm
MicroSet, satin varnish and light dust spray did the job.

Thanks for looking, willem

Desert War Series - update Opel Blitz

Hi all

Not much production last months.
But at least finished stowage and tarp on the Blitz.
I will do the tires and final dusting when placed on groundwork.
Comments are welcome.
