The Date just slipped up on me.

Remember Pearl Harbor

I read earlier today that one of the last airworthy P40B that survived the attack has been bought and donated to the Collins Foundation. It's being shipped back to the US from UK and will do a fly by for the 75th anniversary. I've talked about this before, should such a historically significant aircraft be flown? At what point do we say hey, let's not push our luck?

:pilot I'd advise to all, who haven't done any flying, to visit one of the myriad Airshows across our great land. See these old ladys, breathing fire, and rip-snorting through their Airshow performances. If the sight, scents, and sounds of America's proudest Aircraft, don't move you, then You have my sympathies.
Try to get a spot downwind, on start-up, and let that Aeroshell & 100 octane fog wash over you!
Ahh! HORSEPOWER!! better than cleaning your airbrush with lacquer thinner!!

Planes Of Fame, in Chino CA posted this Vid, 8 Sept.2011. Their P-40-C is amazing!

The Sea Fury has been re-engined with a race worthy R-4360, so NSM on a Griffon run up. Keep watching, :popcorn it take a while for Lt. Taylor's P-40 to show up. :v

Sundance channel has Tora Tora Tora, with commercials
Turner has From Here to Eternity
History Channel has Pawn Stars...

Just saying.

Don't forget another historical attack across the international date line. Dec 8 1941 the attack on Wake Island. My uncle died in that attack and I thank God that he didn't live through the torturous occupation of the IJA.

Yeah those guys on Wake, man. Knowing you're out there on your own with no support on the way. :zen

It's a solemn day, indeed.

Shalom.

I remember December 7 too because on December 7 to December 9, 1941 there were 25,000 (over 10x the deaths at Pearl Harbour) Riga Jews shot and killed at Riga, Lativia. Indeed a very solem day.

Cheers

We remember...... :popcorn

No disrespect to Mr. Mandela, a great statesman.

Hat's off to Your Uncle, and Col Devereaux. 6,000 Japanese were slain by 450 Marines. 28 planes were shot down. 2 IJN DD's and one Submarine were sunk. "send More Japs" Indeed. Well done!
