Das Werk SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D in 1/16th scale

You are right Bob, too much gearing and all to get the steering wheel to work with it. There would be the worm gear in the box then the weird 90° turn of the steering wheel itself. Yeah, not going to go that far.
Our old friend Wasabi San did it, or was it Randy Ditton on his Rat Rod? He had a rack and pinion steering gear.
 
Yes I have been working on this. It has been bits and pieces usually on the weekends and I spent a couple of weekends just getting the tracks the way I wanted. They are not permanent as I left one link where I could pull it apart and remove the track on each side. Works like a champ!

The next part is the firewall and it is going to be quite busy. There is quite a bit to it and I had to remove 2 molded in levers as they were damaged. It will be an easy fix and the levers will look better than if they were just the molded pegs.
