Circle Cutter

I hope someone can help me. So far I always painted road wheels free hand. But at times its a tedious job. Anyway I tried several different circle templates but they never seem to have the right diameter plus these flimsy plastic templates don't guide the knife very well. I remember from a long time ago there were circle compasses available that had a little knife blade instead of lead which allows to cut "any" size of circle needed. Now I am wondering if anyone knows if those are still around and if yes then where I may find one.

Thanks in advance

Joe

What you are looking for is an Olfa P cutter. If you cant find one where you live try here:

Ty James I will try the sponge method. I did look at Olfa cutters before but what I found didnt cut anything smaller than about an inch but I have to check at Michael's or Hobby Lobby again.

Try The Art Store or Dick Blick for your compass with the cutters, Joe. Merry Christmas, BTW! :peace

The other thing I used to use was a stetler circle template. Comes with circles from tiny to about 2 inches I believe. I'd paint the rubber part and when dry hold the wheel behind the proper sized circle and spray the tank colour. Wear rubber gloves a thats less messy.

Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions. I finally found what I was looking for. Here is the link if anyone is interested. It lets you cut circles of up to 4 inches.
