Christmas Cheer

adjusted for USD that's about what our normal price is. $10 a pound I stock up, I cut 16 steaks out of the other loin I got the other day.

We're going to my brother's on Christmas eve, he'll have his chili....then to Cindy's nephew's place on Christmas Day, he'll have lobster and crablegs because he's a vegetarian :bm: . Who am I to question.
Lobster? Crablegs? He's no vegetarian but (like my mother) a pescatarian although neither are fish!
As Brit with a TV ..... i would imagine you would just go out onto the prairie and bag a passing Bison or Buffalo ? then form a possie and ride into town and shoot up the Saloon ?

or is that stereotyping :)
I do hunt but for wild turkeys and deer.
about as much as we think of London in Christmas time with a layer of snow and every walking around looking like Dickens characters.
Christmas is when they get the special breakfast treat of beans on toast?
:smack:

@moon puppy, good on you to buy the big pieces as I do. In my 'squaring the up' I cut steaks for moi! @jknaus the price of beef here is ridiculous and the reason why I will gladly accept a higher quality select (which is a lower Choice grade) when the prices are too much for my usual upper choice (lower Prime grade). Thanks to paying for my son's tuition, it has been a while since I had dry aged steak from the store or restaurant. I do it myself.

In those days you either joined the Army or became a Football hooligan :) the Army actively encouraged the rough side of society to join and just channelled the aggression in the right direction, not always that successfully. But then isn't that what any armed force does ?
even now we have inter arm and regiment boxing, football, rugby, shooting and all the rest and rivalry between regiments is huge. The Paras and the Marines just went a step further being Army v navy
When i was a kid during the Napoleonic wars officers were educated and "the men" weren't
Of course the problem comes when highly trained killers are no longer needed after the war and they are let lose on society , enter the Hells angles etc.

Santa, do you know the names of all the Reindeer?
"Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Thunder, Fireball, Clairice, Two-Toes, Pokey, Pukie, Smokey, Spooky, Pookie, Jackie, Itchy, Holly, Molly, Dolly, and Chuck. There are lots of reindeer at the North Pole."
I hope next year a Bubba could be found.

Speaking of the Falkland island, old bit but still hilarious.
