Chipmunk

You might consider mixing some X-24 clear yellow with the flat yellow. It seem to cover better.

Worked really well with the reds :D

Cheers, Christian B)

I watched this Cagney movie the other night, kinda sappy movie but, had some great color footage of Canadian aircraft from the bush to the Air Force. It was called Captains of the Clouds. All sorts of Chipmunks runnign around!

Looks good James.

That movie was a RCAF collaboration to act as a recruiting movie. They filmed it all at RCAF BCATP bases to get more pilots to sign up. The day it was released the US joined the war and the flow of US pilots to come across the border to fly for the RCAF and RAF dried up almost overnight as now they could fly for the US. The Chipmunk though came out in 46 so it was probably the Harvard, or Yale you saw flying Bob. The other primary trainer being the Tiger Moth and Anson.

Wasn't as big as the expatriated Texan James, must have been that BT9/Yale. So so movie but great footage and oh so vivid color. I wish they had filmed "Air Force" in color, imagine seeing "The Mary Ann" in color.

That is tiny!

Coming along nicely though James! maybe one more coat of yellow would brighten it up a bit more!

Its been a long time since I did any work on this aircraft and hopefully I will have it finished within the next two weeks. The photo is a little grainy as I zoomed in to close with the camera.

It has been awhile and thanks to James Knaus I was able to get more work done on the Chipmunk. The decals are a mix of kit supplied and James provided the CMV 034 based off of a privately owned Chipmunk whose picture I found on Airliners.net.
