Came across this colorized picture from the book of faces. I do believe that paint has seen better days. And if some one ever says your paint is too chipped or over weatherd, well.

I agree . Fighter aircraft paint in time of heavy use only look good for a few days.
What we normally see are aircraft that came out of the paint barn prior to the show .

Airlines use a more durable shinny finish on their aircraft.
