Awesomely clear WW II airplane photographs!

The B-17 above the gas station I remember very well, when I was quite young my dad would get petrol at that station so I could look at the bomber close up. Once I was even allowed to climb up inside to look around, sadly later on there was so much theft of parts from the interior that the bomber was sealed off and nobody was allowed to enter it.

Not sure if you've heard or not. But they are actually restoring the Lacey Lady now. They plan to get her back into flying condition. I am actually amazed that it is in as good shape as it is.

Ryan,
Glad they are restoring it, last I knew of the B-17's status it was taken down from the old petrol station and from the few seconds of news footage it looked to be in horrible condition.
I never expected to see the bomber in a group of photographs like this one.

The inner wing structure was actually pretty nice looking. As for the belly of the fuselage not so much. Dang birds pooping all over in it.
