Yep, another update.

I was in a hurry yesterday, so here are some details of building the fans.

I built a small jig for cutting the fan blades, I needed to cut them at two different radii.

And a pile of blades...

The center hub of the fan.

Two disks glued together with blocks to keep them aligned.

I used a circle template to hold the band tight around the hub, which (by pure luck) fit perfectly.

Another small jig to space the blades.

Gluing the blades.

The completed fan.

I thought I would take the Tamiya parts and spruce them up a bit...it's turned into
a helluva modeling project.

Update...the fans and shutter boxes are done.

Totally improvising here, I couldn't find anything that showed how the fans were mounted...so here's
my best guess:

The completed shutter boxes. I only built three because one will be hidden by the turret:

This shows what I added to mount the fans and boxes. All of this will have to be painted before
gluing.

The boxes look crooked, but they are not glued in yet:

Up next...rebuilding the fire extinguisher.

Ah crap, I don't know...I just built the thing!

From what I gather they were used to redirect heat from the engine to the fighting compartment during cold weather operation.
And draw it away in hot weather...could be wrong though.
