A pair of desert snakes

The decals were applied without too much trouble. They are homemade by printing one the last of my clear decal sheet. I tried sizing them as best I could. I think they are a bit oversized. The "Sand Shark" on the right side was hand drawn in pencil and then filled in with a fine tipped Sharpe. Which was used to also fill in gaps in the teeth when the decal lost some of it's ink. Gary S.

Looks like a good job to me Gary, not like those nose art schemes were prefect in the real world. :popcorn

Looks great!

The rocket pods are installed. At the time of the Desert Storm photo, the Whiskey Cobra was armed with Stinger missiles. The kit only had Hellfire rockets so that is what was used.

Now I'm trying to paint the tail rotors showing the effects of the sand blasting wear. Gary S.

I noticed that even the spin of the tail rotor is wrong and I tried to correct it with paint. The airfoil is backwards. Just doesn't look right and I'm not a revit counter. I have a spare tail rotor to try and fix the problem by clotting off the blades close to the hub and re-gluing them. Looks like it's going to work. Tomorrow I'll try cutting the painted one. Gary S.

I donwanna sound like Captain Obvious, but, can you just flip the tail rotor over, and be a happy guy?

No. Because the trailing edge is angled and the location of the pitch change horns. The cut on the painted tail rotor was successful this AM. Just have to wait for the glue to harden. Gary S

I guess I'm done. Ran out of parts and things to paint. The Monogram kit is the better of the two kits. It has more detail and better fit. Revell is realising it with Red Bull decals. These had two kit languished for years in my stash and I forgot they were used for parts for the earlier Cobra models. So a lot of homemade parts had to be used. Gary S.
