Anyone doing anything for this U.S. holiday? I will be roughing it somewhat. My one brother in law's family has a cabin in Potter county,PA. They have electricity, but no running water, and an outhouse. I was told the area has some great fireworks planned. They say the echoes offf the mountains are great.

My stepdad and I,plus the rest are leaving around 9 PM tonight, the back on Sunday. Then back to the road on Monday.

:v

We have our annual family camping trip this weekend. No fireworks due to being in the forest. But some nice times of laying around reading and swimming.

Pullin for whoever has the poll for Daytona. Oyster Stew for Ma-in-Law and dang Tony, got me thinking of some BBQ Chicken. Maybe beer butt chicken?

...here in Brazil , half day working...5 o clock in the afternon...we will support Brazil versus Colombia...Soccer World Championship...go Brazil go! :dude

Luiz

Go Brazil! I don't know anyone in Colombia so you got my support Luiz

My boss lives in Canada, they took off earlier this week, Canada Day eh..July1. I asked him on our team call when did Canada break away from the US? :rotf

Everyone else on the call thought it was funny..he didn't but he's the boss...:rotf

we will have family over. attend a small town parade in the morning, BBQ babyback ribs and cedar planked salmon in the afternoon, then attend the fireworks display at the local school soccer field, then watch the stupid neighbors try to torch each others houses with illegal fireworks....

Tomorrow will be my 16th wedding anniversary...we'll lay low in the morning and then head to her dad's for a picnic and parade and we can see the town fireworks right from his front porch...

Little bit of both gents! Actually, back in 1998, July 4th was the first Saturday after the end of my first year of teaching...so it was purely a coincidence ;). We had a great 2 week honeymoon planned for Nova Scotia...I loved it and really want to get back there someday....

Well I have my orders.

Just heating up a couple of quarts of HASH, It's a local thing, not corn beef hash. Going to get some corn on the cob and that's about it.

Local community doesn't have much going on, we have a BBQ festival next week end and they focus on that more than the 4th. It's a shame really, we use to have major stuff going on all over the town at the local recreation centers.

Well if y'all get out to parades make sure you get pictures!

We woke up without power, so we drove down to the beach for breakfast- nice! later I'll drag the wife back there to get a beer and see all the drunk, nekkid people. This evening we're going to a friend's who lives up on Palos Verde- she has a spectacular view of the city. We'll see a bazillion fireworks from there, all across the great frying pan that is LA.

That would be cool, get pictures...the nekkid folks... :woohoo:

Menu change, by polular demand we did oyster stew and hamburgers. Don't knock it till you try it. :D

Have to go back to work tomorrow , but hooking up the New Samsung 51 Plasma TV we just bought and a new entertainment center for me & the wife !!! B)

Unfortunately like pretty much every day for the last week spent the whole day at hospice with my wife and her family.
