Here's our 4th in pictures; First, a fairly serene start to the day. Our power blipped out at 6:30, so we went to the beach for breakfast.
Later, we walked among the scantily-clad partiers and found rare seats at the bar of The Standing Room, where I enjoyed a Sculpin IPA.
We walked along the teeming beach...
The Man was keeping order amongst all this happy chaos- at first I thought this was just the horse and lifeguard patrols touching base at the pier, but then I noticed the board-shorts clad dude in handcuffs. He was having a bad enough day without me posting his perp pic so I left him out of the shot.
Later, high up on Palos Verde at a friend's for a party- LA is in the haze off to the left. From her yard you can see from LAX on the left to the Queen Mary and the Port of Long Beach to the left- a spectacular view.
Later, the laights- and fireworks- started coming up all across this vast city. Really something to see!
We've never seen (or more accurately heard) fireworks go on so long. Poor Andi got scared of noise for the first time, and got to sleep in the bed with us, a rare event. All in all, a great day, with even some bench time for yours truly!
