You know that whole "NO NEW Stuff until all these other projects are FRIGGIN' FINISHED" motif I claimed I was sticking too?

One of our Club and M/A members wanted to know where the Venezuelan Narco boat was. Out of courtesy I contacted my Oracle of all things US Coast Guard to see if he knew, or knew anyone that knew, how big these overpowered wave-carving, high-speed unlicensed pharmaceutical barges are. Guess the rest?
A 60-foot boat is 2.05" in 1/350 scale. Her beam is .512 inches. These AGM-64 worthy vessels vary from 42' to 60' LOA. Mine's the big one! She'll be molded and cast on-the-step, at speed, like the 93-foot offshore powerboat in the the 1/350 scale 3 mile limit kit.
I saw a video of a fleet of these Monstro-del-Mar boats at anchor. The bow profile looks like a guillotine!
A ton of 1/350 barrels and 5 or 6 200 hp outboards will need molded. USCG HITRON Dolphin and Seahawk helicopters are going to be busy!
Fun fact: 1/350 scale 55-gallon drums are the same size as 1/35 beer cans. I was planning to include these in the new 1/35 scale Wehrmacht stowage set anyway. (I know, I swore that TLAR Models kit was shelved. I'm an Oak.)
I stopped here tonight to make my Sweetie savory spaghetti supper. Well, and to tend Bar for our Happy Hour! 12 inches of snow on the way tomorrow morning!!

Interesting! I can see all kinds of ways to show this beastie going BOOM! That could be a fun build. Weather folks agree or not, "My Opinion" is that anyone with distribution amounts of the "Evil Chemicals" should get the long sleep as there WILL be people harmed from those chemicals.
So, no personal problem with these boats going BOOM.

Mr. Bob Kirby's 1/700 USS Entemedor is as done as she will get. I look at this and think, "I could just......" but this is a nothing fancy model display. I almost got carried away again after the 16' Tiger shark was added. Restraint does not come easy for me. It is rare, indeed when a waterline scale model is made for presentation.

There's this Nut, see. He thinks the p/e is too thick to make the ladder that runs up USS Clamagore's sail. So he gets this idea. He tapes short bits of black Invisible Thread to a strip of .040 plastic, and trims it close, see?! Then this Nut successfully sticks the tiny black bits to the Boat's sail with Future, in the proper pattern for the ladder.
This is the final detail to add to the 1/700 SS-343 GUPPY III submarine Master.
I've actually trod the hallowed decks of the "Gray Ghost of the Florida Coast" so she must be "just so".
A sail conning station window make-over and another molding will see her as SSN-509, USS Tigerfish of "Ice Station Zebra" movie fame. Or as SS-396, USS Ronquil in her GUPPY III fitment. I filled the mold with other interesting undersea Masters and the PUFFS Sonar array parts.
The end of the 1/700 "Attack From The Sea" project is close to wrapping up. A feeling of relief and accomplishment!
There are still a few more TLAR Models projects to finish up......

Failed RTV. Bubbles and "Muffin-top" are sure signs of some new kind of contamination. I dumped Part B of the mold material to hasten coring of the failed RTV. 24 hours should make for easier removal of this gooey clusterfuck, but why should I bother to try to save the Masters? There is small interest in 1/700 cold war GUPPY submarines or aircraft. It seems a fool's errand to continue. BFA!

When I made my mold for the 251 distributor and fuel pump all I had was some OLD RTV. The part A had settled so that the filler (?) (kind of a chalky white stuff) had fully settled to the bottom. I took an old screwdriver blade that I use for opening Humbrol tins and spent about an hour stirring and mixing on it. The more I mixed the less chunks and bits there were until it appeared like when new. Rather than just jump ahead and try to make the mold, I took a small amount and mixed it with the appropriate amount of part B (which had also settled out the yellow pigment which wouldn't mix) Next day the RTV had set up properly so I made my mold and it worked like a champ.
OK, I was scrolling quickly and am obviously hungry... I saw a strawberry shortcake! A bit chewy perhaps!
