Ah, the gray LPP. SOOOO soothing. See all the little details? (Never mind the Cadillac limosine.)
My signature is the little hatch in the Lazarette. This is really more the stern of the vessel, but the signature remains the same, even if there is no hatch on the real thing.

Dry fit of the prepped coaling hatches. Quite satisfactory, in my view.

For Tramp Steamer builders, the cargo hatches fit quite nicely as well!
Whomever buys the first kit will get quite a few prepped and sanded parts.

Resin parts of TLAR Kit #726, less the schlauchboot (rubber boat) I will throw in.
That should be enough for now.

That ship is really crisp Chris. I like how everything has sharp edges and clean lines with smooth surfaces. You did a really good job with the master.

Marking, gentle wet-sanding and repeated fitting will yield the best results. The gap in the underside of the big coaling hatch fits over the winch pedestal for the Tramp steamer as I had planned it. Notice the repaired flaw in the hull and aft coaling hatch? I don't sell flawed parts to my TLARians. I will commonly use them in my instructional build. I prefer to sell the gray pigmented LPP parts in the kit, rather than the natural cream colored stuff.

She's looking quite Coaster-ish, yes?

So let me follow this.
you've now got molds from the master models you built. Those molds will be use to cast kits. The PE detail like the rail around the conning tower, how does the resin deal with that void? Will it be that thin when you remove the casting from the molds?

Connect the dots, See?! Using your handy-dandy .4mm carbide bit as a sort of tiny saw, this can be easily done.
What do you mean "I doesn't has a .4mm carbide bit?"
There's one in your "Find Jones" kit! Open the blue foam-lookin' thing carefully!!
The Type IXc U-Boat is just building to build her. 2 U-Boats come in the 1/700 Hasegawa kit.
She's not going to be molded or cast.
The Type VII has plastic railing around the gun platform. The deck gun casting was fortunate indeed!

Color on the coal hatches and primer on Bantu Wind and "U-26". The details are becoming apparent! Vertical surfaces on the ship will be light gray. It's time to let the "chemicals" have some time to cure!

There are just enough ventilators in the kit, if none are dropped.

I wanted to paint and build some more on Bantu Wind, but my primer from yesterday is still tacky. It's like that with LPP. One mustn't rush the chemicals. I did winders and ports in Tamiya LP-48 super sparkling silver. They will get Tamiya smoke for depth. Then I walked away!

I did get a dark wash on the Hasegawa type VII U-Boat.

Arising at School-Bus O'clock (again! Bugger!) and in need of an activity that might not awaken my slumbering Sweetie, it was airbrush time! The black is on! The 1/350 waterline HWX-SPC has her white coat. U-26 is coming along. I have p/e parts for the net cutter, but they won't be included in the kit, so I won't install them until after the kit contents and box artwork pictures are done. As she is depicted in 1936, I doubt the DKM sailors would have let her get so shop-worn looking, but she did in the picture, soooo.......

There has been some interest in the the tramp steamer version of the Bantu Wind model. I doctored up three cargo hatches for that reason. It's been a fine morning!
