1/48 Italeri Sdkfz 234/2 Puma

Yessss .... 1/48 and ..... yesssss ... Italeri

I received this one last thursday and I couldn´t resist to make it!!!!

This kit is the last Italeri´s 1/48 release and, as the 1/35 kit ... is far from being the "definitive Puma". In fact, I expected for a little effort from Italeri in this kit, but unfortunately, they just "undersized" the 1/35 vehicle.

There´s a lot of room for improvements, like on the typical jerry cans on the fenders, the tools, the barrel gun (diameter undersized), so on. Anyway, the kit is easy to assemble and the fit of the pieces is excellent, I practically did not use the putty.

I did not want to make an extensive detailing work, just a little bit effort to achieve a littel more realistic kit.

Here, the result

Thanks for looking. As usually, any opinion or criticism will be highly apreciated!!!!

This does look great-- I wondered what the kit might be like since I have only delved into Tamiya and AFV Club quarter scale offerings to date...might just pick this one up!

Many thanks for your opinions.

Still not detailing set available for this one. I´m sure that Hule ror Gasoline will release a set for this one. I just used "a mix" of generic accesories

I used:

For the jerry cans: Tamiya jerrycans + generic PE strips + clasp from the kit´s jerryc cans (I removed them with a sharp modelling knife)
For the tools: Hauler german tool set (jack, shovel, ax ... so on...)
Widht poles from Aber
Evergreen for the periscopes
Generic PE set for general detailing

Regards and thanks for looking

Very cool retrofit Jose , .......... nice build and added details .

One question , ....... who makes the base it looks very nice ?

Well .... painting process

The final look will be very different. Colors now are to vivid, too bright. I´ll take this vignette to a more dark, mystique look, like a Tim Burton´s film ... nightmare before Christmas ... my favourite film ever.

Puma at 60% of painting

Hope you like it ... any opinion or criticism will be highly apreciated.

Dang, Jose! What took so long?? Most excellent!! Love the base with the vehicle!

jose, The whole scene looks fantastic :notworthy the paint and weathering is masterful. Is there something that goes in the Niche above the door?

Once I paint the figures, I´ll post the final vignette.

Many thanks for your always nice opinions

Looks like you're just in time Jose, very good project, the Puma has a great balance of wear and chipping.
