In the first shot is the engine in the middle ?Paint looks great, nice feathered edges as well. always nice to see a big Cat :)

Sweet looking Grumman Paul! I live for the tricolor schemes...so much I painted my hobby room the same colors ;)

And out of nowhere thunders the big cat :pilot . Looking good Paul ! Except for that offset engine .

Cheers, Christian B)

Picky,picky... That happens to be Britt built P&W and they off set it to keep the pilot from flying on the left side of the sky....

Any way I sorta straightened it out a bit but not by much. I shot some future and added the Hase decals. Junk.
I did a little panel highlighting on the underside and will continue tomorrow.

any way, more tamale

Looks spot on...Like the panel lines running through the decals. so many do the lines and add the decals after and have a weathered plane a pristine insignia :)

You sure that drop tanks straight ? ;)

Some of my modeling friends think I build too quickly, well I do because I sit around all day and build to keep me from going bonkers. Being retired is just as tedious to the mind as hard work but less productive.
I listen to all of the good advice I get from all of you guys and I really appreciate it as I apply it to the builds. I did so with this kit but some things I just need practice on, weathering being the worst one for me.

On this I applied about six coats of future and then the decals, another coat of future and then the wash.
I tried a lot of different mixes and found that I am doing something wrong but then I figured it was the paint I have been using for the wash mix so I changed up to a craft paint and just soapy water as a carrier. Bingo, it is not perfect but it works.

Paul it looks good, the only thing I would do is try to blend in the wash on the tank, sort of erase that demark between the wash and the white. Get it more uniformed on the base color then if you want to try some oil or grim streaks put that on top.

I like it! :pilot

Awesome Paul. The fuel stains are a bit harsh, but easily rectified. Then again I have seen some really gunked up tanks before. This really came together (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

Looks great. I like the weathered look you gave it, these aircraft could sometimes get very dirty after seeing a lot of combat.

If you want to try and add more oil stains and streaks to your future models give oil paints and Turpinoid oderless thinner a try...what better way to add oil stains and streaks to a model than with oil based paints. The best thing about this method is if you don't like how it looks its easily removed with the Turpenoid.
