1/350 Small Boat Set. TLAR Models #1125

All that in one box? What a bargain.
Pricing this kit caused me some concern. I want to bring affordable, unopposed, model kits to the market place, but I don't feel like giving them away is wise either. Generally TLAR 1/700 vessels start at $10.00 each and go up from there, depending on complexity. The rule for 1/350 vessels was about twice that, depending on complexity. I priced this set at 139.00, with an introductory price of $99.00 or $6.19 per boat, as it averages for 16 included LPP cast models, p/e & metal parts and inkjet decals. Castings and kit contents are still being assembled.
It's not quite ready for release yet.

Wish me luck!

Saul gets his wish. I got started on the figures for the Narc boat.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but maybe carve a bow wave in foam so you can get the shape and everything the way you want. Then cover with plastic wrap and then use UV resin? Pour it on and then hit it with uv and then when you take away the foam and plastic you should have the bow wave you wanted. Just my 2 cents Cdn minus taxes.

When I did the Samurai Bathtub diorama, I used small bits of clear resin to fashion bow waves and run-off, but it looked kinda silly. That was OK, because the Egg-kagi was supposed to look silly in a wooden tub.

Experience gained from the Cube-Boat projects shows that it is much easier to finish off such things if one "puts the boats in the water". It is doubtful that a 25-RB-S boat would have the grunt to catch a speedy narco smuggler, but it IS my favorite US Coast Guard small boat. Work on clear acrylic bow splashes continues to vex me.

There are 2 guys on the narco boat, with one more to add, and a possible 3 Coasties to add to the RB-S. I'm still considering adding a HITRON MH-65C helicopter to this patch of 1/350 scale ocean. I dunno. Open hatch and gunner on the Dolphin sounds overly complex.
