1/35 S-38B (E-Boat)

canvas dodgers done ( primed with gloss primer for a smooth finish)

I used Evergreen sheet 0,13mm

The tracing paper looked promising it got some nice folds after i put some paint on it but when it started to dry up ..... it rolled it self up :idonno

I am very pleased with the result, nice and tight as it should be .

Only thing to do ......lightly sand them and spray some Schnellboot white on it, and attach it to the railing.
Glad this part is done.

Wondering about using gesso on the paper before cutting to size? That way you can tack it down until it dries.
I like what you have so far, keep on doing it! :good:

There is another paper type that is a bit heavier called Vellum. It is translucent, just not as much as the tracing paper. It might have worked a bit better.

So far you have a great looking build. The evergreen seems to have done the job for you.

Fantastic effort Piet,

How much bigger did you make the hole opening on the foward 20mm gun ?

Michael

I enlarged it to 37.5mm ,took the measurements from the excellent build over on Planet Armour
''You know it ''
i also will build the FLAK from this build (hope you dont mind Fledermaus)

But here Here you can get all the detail you need.... maybe there better ? (i dont know)
It only for the S-100 type ,that why i never got these files.

Thoroughness & attention to the most minute detail are the hallmarks of your models.
I'm shamelessly paying attention, so my 1/700 S-Boote will be better than the Skywave versions!
YOU ROCK!
AUSGEZEISCHNET!

Thanks Piet,
I had been an avid follower of Fledermaus over at PlanetArmour on the Schnellboote.
He too did an awsesome job on the S Boote But you two are way better in detailing the boats.
I am going to detail the schnell but try and take the quick path because it's huge.

:eek:ldguy Mikie ,
Don't buy this book for detailing your boat,
it looks nice but isn't

h8475778.JPG

everything is drawn oversimplified / weak detailing.

Thanks Piet,

I see you have a few books there in the photo , could you please take a photo of all the books or let us know what books to get.

There are a few publications out there on the Schnell and it's pretty hard to work out which book would be the most valuale to your work.

Michael

Mike,

These are all i have on the Schnelloot at this moment.
For the most part they are full of pictures and operational/built/combat history books.
Some profiles but not much in the finer detail deparment.

So i was excited :woohoo: for the
