New on here but been around a while.

Hi! My name is Noel Smith. I am UK based and my prime interest is in auto modelling, but also have an interest in sailing and sail/steam era ships. Sometimes though, other subjects just take my fancy to have a go at. I have had moderate successes over the years at the IPMS UK Scale Modelworld Show (previously the IPMS UK Nationals) competitions and also judged at the event. Occasionally I have written articles for various modelling magazines over a number of years.

Welcome aboard Noel. Glad you're here. Let's see some of your work if you please? What are you currently working on?

Welcome aboard, Mr. Smith! You may find Modeler's Alliance members humorous, if not too numerous!

Glad to have you here Noel. Went to AtlantaCon this last weekend and saw this really fine car build. The paint was smooth as glass (it had like 5 coats of clear gloss wet sanded and polished)

Hi Noel, belated welcome from me
Yes you can upload direct but keep images around 1000 pix on the long side so about 600kb, click "attach files" on the bottom of you message screen
I am also in the UK so good to have some back up 🤣

Yes sir Noel, you can post directly to the forum or upload into the Media section. Sorry about the file size limit, hard drive space cost on the internet.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys !

Can pictures be posted directly onto this site ?
Hi Noel!
How I post photos is to open the folder that has the photos on the computer. As I do heavy editing on my photos, I have found that 1024 x 768 up to 1280 x 960 size with optimize file size works well. This keeps the file sizes between 260k to about 380k most of the time.
Then in a separate window I open MA and start my thread or post. Then do your starting text and add several blank lines ( [enter] a bunch of times). Then I drag the photo to where I want it from my folder on my computer to the open post and line I want it to place.
The photo places and below the post a thumbnail appears. To remove the photo (ends up in wrong place?), click on the delete on the thumbnail.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) will work as well. Give it a try and you will find out how easy it is.

Looking forward to seeing your builds.

Thanks for the further welcomes and photo posting advice guys !
This looks like a friendly model making site to belong to.

Is there a personal message facility enabled on this site ?

Hi Paddy maybe we will get to see each other at one of the UK model shows. Don't know what neck of the woods is your patch. I live in Mid Bedfordshire.
