Good luck on the interview. Be aware that the UK in some areas has severe problems with people that they allowed to immigrate into the country.

I am acutely aware of the problem with immigration in the UK. However, there has been an exodus of medical professionals since BREXIT and the chances are really good there. The job is excellent and that is why I am checking it out. If it doesn't work I have quite a few here in Germany lined up. So we'll see.
There is a difference between immigration and skilled-workers immigration (I hope). As I said, let's see how the atmosphere is.

Thank you all for the tips. Actually @moon puppy 's programm worked really well. The files are small now but quality seems to have been maintained.
Here is the progress with the Cockpit PE assembled and one of the supporting vehicles (a BMD) which I will use in the diorama to carry the removed Merlin engine.

Hi Doc, sorry to hear you're having these problems. It does make life challenging.. Looking forward to seeing more of your Lanc build.
I use paint.net to do my resizing and basic image fixes. Its better than MS paint by far. Then I open the image and go to image, resize, and then resize by percent until I get the size to the 4mb limit. Hope that helps.

Color me a naive Tourist. I did not care much for Sao Paulo. All the natives is foreigners!

Well if you have only been to Sao Paulo then you visited the only ugly part of Brazil (although it has a lot of culture and delicious restaurants).
Go to the Northeast next time and we'll see if you won't change your mind...

There are some aspects of the German mentality that I will never understand and for the sake of not entering specific political considerations here I won't comment any further. Yes, to allow a family to relocate only to "change course" after a few months is beyond inconsiderate. I wish I could bring them to justice but I can't. However, I am sure that divine justice or Karma will work its way. It has many times in the past, particularly in here.
But this is all water under the bridge (albeit very murky)...
Now on to the progress on the Lanc:
It has been difficult with all the PE and fitting. The instructions on the PE sheets are really lacking in clarity, which makes trial and error a necessity. Since I have decided to change one of the engines for an "open nacele" without the Merlin that created a lot of disparity in the assembly and quite a bit of sanding and putty. The bomb bay was a bit more straightforward, the "cookie" 4.000 Lb fit really well. Tried some pre-weathering with a "dust" effect in the black parts, which I liked. Of course everyhing will be retouched in the painting phase.
This is the situation as of now:
