This little jewel was what I ordered with my Squadron 25% discount coupon. I have wished for a kit of Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown's HMS Audacity, but I won't monkey around with converting this model. These Polish model ships kits are most excellent!

Not at all! The Yahu panel is for the Havoc as well as the guns for their turrets. Adding the Flogger and Tiger II products from the same vendor unlocked an extra 20% discount.
Shades of girl math slipping in here, "If my favourite store is having a sale I have to buy more or I'm losing money."

Cheers,

BIG difference is that I chose things I needed as opposed to random crap simply to fill the bill. As it stands the turret guns were free plus I got free shipping (which admittedly wasn't much as the hobby shop is in the East coast of the US as I am).

I have seen this happen with my wife where she then spends hours perusing products for things she likes, as opposed to needs, to pad the amount. Good catch!

JoAnn's going out of business and these were 50-60% off.

Resin of better quality than the last:

A wire bending jig which has more uses and made of aluminum:

Heat resistant tape (up to 450 degrees F which can hold things as I do quick soldering:

I got a couple of items in this week. One order has been in La-La Land since mid April.

The 2001 kit is actually quite large. Seems I saw a drawing, painting or concept where it was setting on landing gear. I guess I will look around a bit.

Soldering Tape? all these years, all these scars, no one ever told me! :frantic:
This isn't soldering tape but there is one which is perfect for that. This is high-temp tape. Used to hold iron-on patterns in place while applying under high heat and pressure. I will be testing it for soldering as I simply want it to hold until the solder flows.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, both have the same 250°C/480°F heat resistance. I know, I know, I wrote 450°F! :smack:

This one clearly states soldering among other things. click to see Amazon page:

Heat Tape, 4 Rolls High Temperature Heat Resistant Tape, Adhesive Heat Tape for Sublimation, Heat Press, Electronics, Soldering, Circuit Board, 10mm x33m(108ft)

That looks like the tape we use to mask off the polished parts of bracelets that need to stay polished when we do a brushed finish on the other parts. It is generally pretty tough though it doesn't stick super well. We also order it in different widths to fit different parts that have to be covered.
I will take some photos at work.

Awesome, I will try it for that too!

Kapton tape. Its the same thing Kapton wire is wrapped with. I use it on circuit boards to prevent anything shorting. I'm not sure if the tape is as bad as Kapton wire, but when it goes, it goes hard.

got these in the mail yesterday. I think a bit too expensive, but still pretty interesting. I know the author fully researches his stuff though based on threads in Face Book. I got these at 30% off and free shipping, and signed by the author.

Here are some links to supply houses where you can get different widths of that tape. It is a polyimide tape. Not cheap, but it is tough and will go a long way.

Esslinger Watchmaker supply Protective tapes

Jules Borel Watchmaker Supply Protective tapes

Not super expensive, but not cheap. They are for a specific type job and work quite well. They would work great for masking straight fine lines, but can't think of much else hobby wise for model building. Not sure how much stick they would have on paint, but they aren't all that tacky.

I have this set as well James. Excellent profiles and info...love the art style. My only complaint is the sections given to a what if 1946 + alternative history. The second volume has some 20 pages dedicated to it.
I am just not interested in more than 2 pages of this. I must not be alone as his latest volume backed this off and he acknowledged that he may have given the subject to many pages. I would rather he increased the Tiger cammo section.
