Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

At this point there were a couple that I wanted and they aren't available anywhere but maybe from WNW if/when they reopen and sell off their stock. All we can do is watch and wait.

A few that arrived at the gate recently....

Something I do Saul is I have an old block Testor's liquid glue bottle half full of Squadron Green Putty. I then add a lot of MEK to it and keep it mixed. Periodically I have to add more MEK, but with the Green putty nicely thinned it applies better and smoother. It also bonds to the plastic a bit better.

I did the same with Squadron's White Putty and Methylene Chloride. However, the tube was cracked and it totally dried out. I also had 'liquid polystyrene' but it shrinks over time so prefer cyanoacrylate as a filler in most cases. The Bondo will be mostly for welds and texture.

Except for a Sopwith Pup Gnome Engine still to come I just received probably the last WNW kits I'll ever buy. Its a truly sad time when one of the best WWI model makers has shut down shop. I was really looking forward to the Fokker DR.1s and maybe even a HP 0/400 or 0/100, not to mention the Lancaster's. I was really lucky to be able to snag these at great prices and somehow an early WWII bird snuck in also. I'm very seriously thinking of doing the 109 while I wait for my I-16 and Sopwith Pup AM to arrive.

Congrats on the Salmsons James. I wanted one and I think Bob was interested as well. The Legion Condor should be a decent kit. I started work on my E4 late today after getting my workroom turned around again. Also did some weeding out of stuff, and finally found my little mini Radio Shack volt ohm meter. Put it in my Falcon parts box moons ago and never did figure out where I had put it. It is in the place it is supposed to be now. YAY!

I really want a Halberstadt C1.11 Late but the AUS dollar value at the moment is making it too expensive at $188.00 before postage.
So I got these instead...... Oh man I love this guys artwork. The packaging is so attractive and priced so well that Takom (as well as Meng) have become my new 'go to' for armour kits. Dragon just seem to be dragging the chain at this point and (at least down here) are $30 more per kit without the great looking box!

They are great looking kits...I've got Takom's StuG III and Panzer III on pre-order from Hobbylink Japan...can't wait!

Seems to be a shortage of cutting mats, been to several sites and they are saying out of stock. :hmm:
