Those photos were taken on my work bench and without any photographic lighting, so, a little dark. When the dio is finished I have a place selected for it in the museum where it will be well lit. When we moved here four years ago, I made the finished lower level into a museum and spent nearly $10K to have additional lighting installed. Some of my larger dioramas like this one have as many as 300 miniature lights installed, but, when I planned this one, I knew there would be so much detail, I opted to leave the miniature lights off as all the wiring would interfere with the details such as hundreds of figures and the 52 vehicles.!

Now that is true artistyI've really been on a roll lately. Getting so much done. I'm going to be able to wrap up this train station before long. I wanna get back to vehicles, only a few left! Once this is finished, after I have the vehicles and figures done, I'm guessing I can complete all the buildings and street accessories in a few months! Then I've got the show base to do and order the plexiglass top! I might just finish this never-ending diorama!
Here, for the first time, I think the photos will give the viewer an idea of how it will look finished. Still a lot of weathering, (Aging), to do, smoke residue from the locomotives on the superstructure. When it is complete, I will be able to set it in place but still lift it off to get in behind it. The number of figures and vehicles on the street will be massive. Just to pin the 450 figures and 52 vehicles for attaching to the base will be time consuming.
The support columns and the superstructure of the roof are not attached as yet. They are sitting there and, obviously they won't be aligned or level until the final assembly with glue..

The framed glass panels on top with have the last seven letters of a sign saying Hauptbahnhof in large letters centered.

After it is all assembled, there will be rubble from the tank round in the wall, all over the floor plus a lot of dirtying up, trash, etc. scattered about. I gave the tiles a gloss coating by using Chartpak micro tape to mask off the grouting. It would be flat. Then I sprayed gloss clear on the tiles and removed the tape. That was a lot of tedious work!
The stairs look new. I'll have to scuff them up and also wreak some damage from the falling bricks and debris.
And, finally, an overall shot. The steel work will continue to the last girder on the left when the building is finally assembled.
