There were many gun trucks painted black, my reference books also show very dark green. I guess it depends on your weathering method, things tend to get darker as you add layers. Looking forward to your choice.

Seriously, it looks like the lighter shade in the modulation set I used on the t-54, so yes, vary the black a bit and you have the start of to me looks like a good faded olive-drab

That color is closer. Depending on your weathering methods it could turn darker which would be great.
Some things to keep in mind about guntrucks used by transportation units when weathering is that they took a lot of pride in how their trucks looked so some road dirt or mud is fine, the excessive chipping of paint and fading of colors which seems to be all the rage these days would be out of place. A chip or scrape here and there may be OK as stuff happens.
I am sure you already have your game plan figured out and this model will look great.

Having a "plan" can range from actually having something analyzed with courses of action decided and acted upon to something like "I plan on doing something to make this look good"
My planning for most of my figures and dioramas aren't plans at all. I just start working and see what happens.

I like this one better, Valejo US Dark Green with a drop or two of black.
I drapped a part that had the Life Colors green, you can see just how light it was.
A little darker maybe?
I scratched out about 15 minutes to add more black to my US Dark Green.
Looking at both shots, I think I like it now. I'll be pressing on with this. Things have settled down a bit around the house so I might be able to find some more time again.

I did, thanks for remembering that Warren. I think it was Terry who showed us that trick. Yellow Ocher was the color. I did it with thinned oil color on a Tamyia staff car that ended up with a unique effect. I allowed the paint to dry and put the decals on but obiously the oil had not cure enough. After some time the decals had a halo effect from the carrier film where the Yellow Ocher was sealed in. Not sure what to do with that effect but it was neat!
