Thanks for posting Bob! As I run Google Chrome, it asked in the top corner if I wanted it to translate. While some of the wording and sentence structure were odd (to me anyway) it became a quite enjoyable read.

One enlightening thing was the Stug by the trolly car diorama with 2 buildings on the side was not entirely built by the modeler in the article. He farmed out to buildings to a friend of his that specialized in the buildings. Translations are not perfect, but in some cases are still quite informative and readable.

Well, at one point in my life, I spoke fluent German and French. I could get by in Spanish and italian, just barely by! :gogo However both are fading. I have to make a conscious effort now to speak or read either. I haven't as yet because I am in the middle of building this new workshop and I prefer to struggle through translating it myself than using Google Chrome or any other translation device. They never translate correctly because they translate word for word which mostly makes no sense. There is far more to translation than just the words. Sentence structure, slang, varied uses for a single word that doesn't translate at all, etc.

Whoa!!!!! For $650, I think I'll wait awhile on that one! I still have a half dozen monster kits including the 1/35th Dora and two 1/72nd U-Boats, plus a 1/100th USS Constitution and a 1/8th scale Mercedes. Oh yeah, I forgot about the 1/8th scale Sopwith Camel!

Wanna take odds on whether i can finish them or not! :yipee

I have the B-17 G by HK with ALLLLL the goodies from Eduard and the metal MG barrels from. . . (OK I forget) Seems like I have about $7 or $8 hundred in it with all the PE, cloth seat belts, resin engines, brass gun barrels, tires and other goodies.

I am thinking about swapping the kit out for the E-F version that is soon to be out. Much more variety in markings available. The G wouldn't be so bad if it had the stinger tail gun as an option. The Cheyenne tail gun though was late late war.

I could make sense of it, just had to read whole sentences and do heavy context to get what was being talked about. Once in a while there was an odd word but could still get the context of what was being said. I was actually pleasantly surprised it was as clear to read as it was.

Not nearly as bad as some of the garbled nonsense that Trumpeter prints on their boxes.

Most of you guys have no idea how lucky you are. Back in the dark age of modeling, our choices were none at worst and only the most popular vehicles, planes and ships at best. This is truly the Golden Age of modeling!

BTW. You can tell the HK B-17G landing gear, just like the Academy kit's, is too long. A couple of weeks ago, I climbed into an old B-17G, with no armor or self sealing tanks, and you can reach up to the nose hatch easily, just standing on the ground.
