HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE (AIRCRAFT)

I want to know how long it take you guys to build a model with a moderate amount of detail. I will be posting one of these for Armor and Automotive also.

Be honest

Terry

I said 6-9 but it depends on the type...fighters take me less time than bombers as I always like to trick out bomber interiors since there is more inside of them...

Depending on the degree of difficulty of the kit ( I often build off the wall stuff ) I would say six months would be pretty safe.

I said less than a month, but thats actually a bit false, if I'm really interested in a plane, 10-20 days will do :D

okay if it's a 1/72 plane: 10-20 days
1/48: 1-2 months, made a F-51D in 9 days, is still one of me best models
1/32: a year or more

And with school taking most me time, nothning will be made!! but normal is under a month :)

Longest i ever took was the WnW FE2b which was 6 weeks because it took me 2 weeks to rig it

it really does depend on the subject and how much you consider moderate. i voted under 3 months but if the project was say a no holds barred large scale bomber it may be 3 years.

I say there is no correct answer . There is always the I screwed it up and need to order parts to fix it . :fencing

A lot of these guys build in no time where it takes me ages to finish anything and Duke can build a whole fleet while people MP about the model MP just scored.

I have never enjoyed rushing a build just to meet a deadline. I agree with Chuck . Take as long as needed.

Ditto this, really depends on the scale.

For me it usually takes about a month of so. But I also tend to build during the winter when I am laid off and have nothing to do so that might be part of it.

I said 6-9 months. I've done it in less than a week and I've taken well over a year. It just all depends on scale, subject matter, and level of detail both in the kit and added by me be it PE, resin, or scratching.

With my more "serious" builds I tend to go slower, take longer, and work in spurts along with other shorter term projects.

I said three to five months since that seems to be what it's taking me lately. Still, I could do smaller planes in a week or two if I had the time available.
