What is this ?

I found this picture on the internet and was wondering what it is and if anybody makes a model kit of it. Looking by the helmets it looks like its marines and the truck looks like a Deuce and a half with a single axle in the back. What size rockets it is I have no idea but they do remind me of the ship board rockets.

The soil makes me think Io Jima and the rocket system looks like a Canadian Land Mattress. As for the truck, the users and definative I dont know.

Tried googling rocket truck Iwo Jima and found this http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98655
Cant see the pics at work though. Hope that helps.

I did a little diggin and come up with this. The truck was made by International Harvester. I don't know of any models of this truck unless Acurate Armor has made one. It would be a cool subject for some smart company to take on though. Here are some more pictures.

CGM-Adrian Production made a resin kit of the International Harvester M2.4 in 1/35th scale, not sure if they're still around but maybe on ebay?

:v

Edit: Commander Models has one too, but I have a few of their kits and they're pretty rough. :stinker

Wow Thanks guys (y) . I sure hope some company will make that as a plastic model because no way can I afford $120 at the moment. It is just one of the most awesome Multiple rocket launc

Give them time. I am sure one will be out in plastic soon.

Snhalom.

The fastest way to get a styrene kit of one released is to scratch-build one.

Couldn't one of the Beep derivitive kits be used as a basis?

Cheers from Peter
