Master at Arms
So, I entered my first model competition this weekend at a small local show. It's held yearly in April at our local air force base museum (Shearwater Aviation Museum). It's small (about 60 + participants and around 150 models), but a good show.

I entered my PBY catalina in RDAF markings (one of my first posted builds on here) and was very surprised to take first place in the 1/48 scale props category! :D

I was told by one of the judges that I was very close to getting Best of Show too. I totally didn't expect it but was beyond happy!

I took some pictures which I will post once I get a chance. There were some really good models there!

Thanks guys!

Here are the pics!

This is the kit I entered. Foolishly, I forgot to take a picture of it on the table!! :smack

as I mentioned, the show is held in a museum so you get to walk around and see all these great aircraft while attending the show and vendors tables

Some of the entries!

I particularly liked this one!

The Juniors table

My award

picked this up as a door prize

and bought a few goodies...

some books

a little bagged Tie Interceptor if we have that Star Wars build..

A couple obscure French bobbers

and I found the MPM KI-21 Sally with the resin interior. Figure I can use it to copy for the Revell kit I got awhile back.

Nicely done Warren!

Shearwater is in Nova Scotia near Halifax, yes? My wife and I honeymooned there in '98...and when I saw the place in the travel guide I was very excited to see it. But we were on a tight 2 week schedule traveling from Yarmouth and around Halifax back west along the south coast...and the one day we were in that area was the one day the place was closed...I was majorly bummed ;)
