Uschi Van Der Rosten products. I cain't recommend doing business with them.

I placed an order from Uschi 23 November 2024. 15 days later, No shipping information or product was received.
Repeated attempts to contact Alexander Glass have fallen on deaf ears (keyboards?)
My hope was to offer Uschi's excellent .005 mm elastic rigging line on tlarmodels.com
In anticipation, I created a listing before the Uschi order arrived, so I could just plug in the in-stock quantities.

I use it myself and I wanted to offer it to my customers as an add-on to make building my sailing ship model kits easier and more fun to build.
I would possibly have made $1.00 on each Uschi bobbin sale, Maybe. There would have been no recouping $30.00 VAT & shipping.

"We're at 15 days from paid purchase with no communication/tracking number/ship date and NO delivered product.
I act in good faith and this is how you do business? I have higher standards for my vendors than this.
In the next few days, I promise I will file a Discover dispute to get my money back.

In addition, I will let the internet know what inexcusable treatment to expect from Uschi Van Der Rosten products website.
I will furthermore make no further mention of the use of your products on my own model website.
Good day, sir."

I NEVER leave my customers, with paid orders hanging like this. Even during my early evil-bay days.
What an Arschloch!

I hope the guy is ok. They have some amazing products. We they not going in cahoots with that other group that was getting several vendors together under one roof? Can't remember the name.

Yeah not impressed with a transaction I did with him either. Bob he is with Das Werks. I'm not thrilled with them but still get something if it catches my eye and noone else makes the item.

Das Werk is a joke. Someone else's plastic with 3D print stuff added. Like Eduard when they first started.

Arschloch ......you couldn't word it better .
Same problem here, placed an order and paid for it still nothing ,
Now almost 3 month ago and no replies on Emails and Facebook.

I wondered if my brothers in Europe had any better experiences or advice. I know it always costs a Man to learn, but I disputed this transaction on Discover. Discover will get my $$ back. $26.00 per bobbin is too rich for my meager budget. A meager 10% mark-up for resale puts me in the Arschloch category too.

months Piet? Da schitzt dem Hund im Feuerzeug, das ist jawohl unglaubbar! by now, I might have taken a train ride to kick this jaded jerk in the knees! Burning sack of dog poop on his front porch? Axle grease on his car's windshield wiper blades and door handles? :bat

By all evidence, this Alexander Glass thinks himself a skilled model maker, but that must be where his talent ends. I find no obituary for him.
My next email includes a link to this thread.

Well being in the same country, I can't say anything about that guy. I never tried his shop or his stuf. I alwys wanted to try his wood decals, but when reading this, I won't do.

The only thing I can offer is, that I try to reach out for him in Germany, if you give me your order number and such, but if that will lead to something, I don't know. A quick WWW search gave me some complains about his shop mostly from outside Germany but not that much, most of them a couple of months ago.

There's another railroading vendor that has that wire. I have some, I'll check it later today for the brand name.

I don't know if it is elastic but I did find this made in the USA.

Thread, Berkley® FireLine®, gel-spun polyethylene, smoke, 0.06mm diameter, 1-pound test. Sold per 125-yard spool for $19.99 each but they have quantity discounts.

Click to see it in stock:

I know someone makes this. Uschi and MiG Ammo are just repackagers. I'm gonna find this .005/.004 elastic thread, and market it at a much less ridiculous price. What you got there is interesting but not truly elastic. The hunt continues.
I'll find Sancho and tilt at some windmills along the way, I'm sure.
