Trumpeter 1/35 M1130 Command Stryker

So to get IronMike to stop calling me in the middle of the night and complaining about not posting anything on here, I decided to take a few pics of my WIP's. It's already quite along and its getting in the final stages. I build it OOB but low and behold ( and that's for you Mike) I used more than half of the kit supplied PE. I decided to leave the glass windows for the driver out and just close the hatch since the kit doesn't have any interior. I drilled out the Antenae bases and plan on putting .010" brass wire in there as aerials. After a coat of Tamiya gray primer I painted overall Tamiya NATO green and highlighted the panels with NATO green and a few drops of dark yellow mixed into it. Then I started on the detail painting like tool handles and such. Enjoy the pics and comments as well as suggestions are always welcome.

so that's how we can get people out of lurker status...put Mike on them. He's a big ol' boy, I can see it workin'

Thanks for sharing Joe, looks like a big green machine to me.

Hey Joe! Glad to see you finally capitulated!! :D I'm really liking the paint work and PE to boot! (y)

Hi Joe, I see you finally let Mike goat rope you into a build. Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, Christian B)

Thanks guys, if it turns out half as good as my 1/72 Stryker I am happy. I have actually a boatload of kits in the works but due to time constraints I will probably on post pics of finished products since most are in an advanced state.

UPDATE: Trumpeter 1/35 M1130 Command Stryker

Since I have several irons in the fire at once, progress is slow. I finally got some of the onboard storage added that was supplied with the kit. Now I just have to build up some of the Coke, Pepsi, water and MRE boxes and throw them on for a good measure. I plan on putting a coat of future on before I leave for work today and decal tonight after work. Unfortunately a cpl of the antennae broke off while handling the model but I should be able to glue them back on.

Man that looks good!!! I don't put the antenna's until the very last for same reason.

Thanks for your comments. I managed to get most of the decals on last night after I got home from work. I had a cpl of the smaller decals crumble on me when I tried to put them on. But I see that as a minor since they are barely visible anyway. So this morning I will add the wash and flat coat tonight and hope I get her finished by Friday night.

Joe
