UPDATE:Trumpeter 1/35 M1130 Command Stryker

I got the decals on, gave it an oil pin wash of black and burnt umber and flat coated. I just stuck the wheels on there for the pictures. I hope to get her more dirtied up today with some airbrushed earth color and Bragdon Powders, do the dry brushing and maybe start of giving it the finishing touches.

Maybe I have lost my mind. AFV's are usually dirty and so I did this the last cpl hrs. Bragdon Powder mixed with 91% Iso-Alcohol.

Peter, there was nothing that really stood out. The kit went together fairly well.The assembly of the stowage baskets was a little tricky. And I didnt use The glass enclosure for the driver since no interior is provided. I really liked the Kit PE, its not as thin and flimsy like the Dragon PE

DONE: Trumpeter 1/35 M1130 Command Stryker

The Stryker is done. I added some more dirt to it by spraying weathering powder mixed with 91% Iso Alcohol with the airbrush and added the antennae made from .010" Phosphor Bronze Wire. I also added little drops of Crystal Clear to the antennae tips since pictures of the Stryker showed some kind of ball thingy at the end of the antennae.

Hey Joe,
I like that dusty look on your Stryker,it's like it drove myles and myles on a very dusty soil.[Iraq or Afghanistan perhabs].
The 'ball things'on top of the antennae I remember from my own servicedays back in 1988/1989,we lost several of them,driving high speed through woodland hitting the trees.Many modern afv's have them.

The vehicle lights look very convincing!

Joe I gotta tell ya, I was kinda worried about this from the update last night, looked like paint just brushed on, but now....now it looks real. Spraying the pigments gave it a completely new dimension. Nailed it!

Have you got your airbrush cleaned out yet??

Thanks guys, I am sure it wasn't the last time I sprayed pigments. But I know I won't use my Iwata Airbrush again. I plan on hitting Harbor Freight next weekend and getting me one of the $15 Chinese Badger knock-offs. The nice thing about spraying pigments is that you can really build it up.
