I'll be posting more photos, including a comparison later...

Only $10USD for the A and $12.50USD (for the extra pair in the B)

Regards,

That kit has not been out long.

Saul, looking at that photo, (zoomed in a bit) those wheel castings look rather rough. There seems to be a lot of flash or broken "something" around the six triangular holes. Reminds me of some of the horrid resin castings from Games Workshop.

If you haven't seen the photos before, it is because it is a preview. A 'first pull' and not the production product. ;) This is why I stated I will follow up with more photos. :D

Now, do tell, did you read about this first here? Later, there will be sets specific to Tristar and Dragon (kits I have).

Regards,

I told Joe to post photos after cleanup. He offered to send them to me but, as a one man shop, I don't want him doing that as I don't have the kit and will not accept it for free. I will await the Dragon and Tristar releases as those I can buy and use.

From the first pull, no clean up done, this is what was hoped to achieve, the left is resin, right is kit plastic & PE with a gap (in red) to fill.

Second is that the resin properly reflects the thickness of this ring which is too thin in PE:

Thanks for the info Saul. I have the Takom double kit (has one each A and B tanks) Have done no research and was basically going to build them out of the box (for a change).

Took a closer look at the reference photo and the rubber tire seems to be about even with the side of the metal wheel. In other words the wheel doesn't seem to stick out as far as the bottom photo of the resin wheel.

Since Joe accepts all constructive criticism, I want to make sure I understand your statement. I asked Joe to only use period photos and not museum exhibits. Since I don't know which reference photos you may be looking at (is it the one I posted with the wheel?) I had a look at several.

These reinforcing wear rings were intentionally proud of the tire and often appear as shiny since they rubbed against the other suspension parts. They also wore down from this so appear as very proud to about even with the tire width. Is this what you're referring to?

If it is indeed wrong, I will let Joe know.

In this photo the wheels (metal part) look to be about even with the rubber tires. They might even be a little recessed. I am looking at the line between the tire and the wheel. It is possible that the metal wheel is rounded along this edge and thus it is harder to tell that the wheel is wider than the tire.
As I said, I have not done any research on this at all. Just looking at these photos. Thanks for the other photos, I do see what you are talking about with the wheels being worn to bare metal.
