Chillingly real

Interesting video! A lot of colorized film (there even is a Japanese aircraft in it being shot at). Note that most aerial footage was filmed with cameras without sound due to the deafening roar within the aircraft.

Still, nice to see non-CGI aircraft.

Thanks,

Video playing rough for me at work. There's footage of a B17 being shot up, not sure it's in this. Use to be used in the ol' Time/Life book series commercial on TV. You can clearly see where the rounds are going, hitting the starboard engines and the pilot walks the hits across the wing and into the fuselage. couple of rounds clearly hit the ball turret which was moving earlier in the sequence. I use to think how cool that was till it dawned on me, recently, that yeah, the ball turret was moving when it was hit. That's as real as it gets.

Thanks for sharing this Phil.

Cheers guys, Bob I know the one you mean, I had it saved but think I deleted it, I did watch one a long while ago and I swear that when the ball turret got hammered a large object fell from it, my guess it was the poor gunner, it was just to large an object to be anything else.
